Default ZR2 part interchange

Hi All, I have a 2003 ZR2 and was wondering what regular Blazer parts are interchangeable with the ZR2 ,more concerned about driveline/ suspention / brake/other differences, if any.

That's a pretty broad request. Try narrowing it down to specifics and I am sure you will get the answers you need.

Looks like all the body parts are alike, cept front fenders-looks like all wheels are the same - looks like all interior are all the same - suspension might be different-front end part might be different, transfer case might be different-drive shaft might be different-but not sure because nobody said they were. I guess ill have to list every nut, bolt ,washer, etc part for an answer. Oh well, thought there were some that have worked on there rigs and ran into issues with swapping parts. Any part.....

im pretty sure the balljoints , idler and pitman are the same , a look on moogs site would clarify this . The Transfercase is the same and there is 2 available model options , the driveshaft should be the same, rear springs are different , rear differential is different (wider) , the front CV axles are longer in the Z , control arms are different.

I have done lots of goggle and it all seems to be the same, like people asking the same questions and getting the same answers on different sites. I go into the GM dealer and most of the parts for the ZR2 are no longer available and I keep seeing online about people trying to buy a idler arm and it not fitting, because they are all the same, not. (maybe one from a 89 GMC 3/4 ton HD would work) Now I am thinking that GM would have used parts from other vehicles to build the front end,for example, and the front axle drive shafts are longer, did they use parts from ,say a 89 Tahoe and a S10 , or ???? There was a site,I am told called ZR2USA, that seemed to have all the secrets but is gone now.

There is lots of bad info out there and only some parts are the same, you have to dig for some answers and i will give you an example. The parts book will tell you what rear shock a blazer or jimmy will use but the parts book does not list the Zr2..... the rear shocks need to be longer on the Z because of the higher lift , regular blazer shocks will prematurely fail because they are being stretched
to much....the 1500 full size shocks have to be used...... If you are changing a certain part and are unsure ask here bro , we will try to help you.

For front end parts , Moog is the better choice and on their web site you can research your parts and see what is different. The zr2usa site was pretty good but I have found better and more info on this site .

Lower control arms are different, but I believe the only difference is the location of the sway bar bracket. I ordered them from moog and ac delco ZR2 specific and both were wrong. That forced me to reuse them with new joints and bushings.
