Tried to find the OEM bushings via the part #s on the diagram that Christine linked to but it is an obsolete part and no luck on all the usual sites...

Don't think the OE bushing is available anywhere by part number......many have tried and failed. I felt sure I could find it thru aftermarket manufactures but kept running into bronze so just went that way.

OK so you actually found replacements in bronze or had them made? If you found replacements could you give me a link or a name?

Turns out my C clips are long gone which is why I was confused in the removal process. Got the top one loose by pounding with a hand sledge but the bottom one may be a bear...

Since I had my hinge apart, I realized that since the bushings looked in pretty good shape that I had a good opportunity to remove one and take some measurements.

So as to make the post easier to find in the future by others, I created a new thread. Here is the link to it: https://blazerforum.com/forum/paint-...16/#post701431

But for your convenience, here is the text of that post:

Measured dimensions of bushing, GM pn 12546658:

The hole into which the bearing is inserted has an ID of about 0.764" +/- 0.005"
The OD of the pin is 0.619"+/-0.001"

These are the dimensions of the bushing as measured in inches, mm and the approximate nominal fractions of an inch.

ID: 0.632"+/-0.004" (16.05 mm+/-0.10 mm) ~5/8"
OD: 0.775"+/-0.001" (19.69 mm+/-0.03 mm) ~3/4"
L: 0.569"+/-0.003" (14.45 mm+/-0.08 mm) ~ 9/16"
FD: 1.245"+/-0.004" (31.62 mm+/-0.10 mm) ~1 1/4"
FT: 0.057"+/-0.002" (1.45 mm+/-0.05 mm) ~1/16

Can't pound out the bottom stud; Bad angle. Top one loose. Considering taking off the body mount portion. Will the nuts within the body panel drop into the body or are they tacked on? One of the Torx heads is stripped out so it also leads me to believe they ain't gonna come out easy

Pretty sure on the vehicles that came stock with the tire carriers, the bolts are held in place on the inside of the panel. I would go with removing the carrier.

Here is a link I found when trying to research this myself.
