98-05 S-Series Radio Removal HOW-TO Discussion
Good thing I double checked the manual on the wires back there... When I was wiring my switches, I was like "OOOO! Yellow wire! Free power!"
Then I was like... "Waaaaaiiiit a minute... It can't be THAT easy!"
Good write up!

actually, that yellow wire is just a loom, it contains two 22 or 24 gauge wires (white and yellow) that are your bags!!.. Just reapaired a remote start on a 99 s-10 that the shop that did it thought that was the passlock wires.
Close enough, lol, though, gives me this crazy stupid idea, to wire something in, so when the air bags go off, a loud speaker says "BAM!" or something stupid like that, lol
Thanks for the pictorial. Your timing couldn't be better. I just bought a Sony CDX-GT610Ui that I want to install next weekend. I've got a Scosche GM1588B dash kit coming and I've got the harness out of my totaled 96 S-10, so I think I'm set to go.
Well, I got my Sony installed last night. I soldered up the connections from the Sony harness to the GM adapter. I think that took the most time, but I prefer solder over crimp connections. The dash went exactly as it was posted here. I had to cut a small piece out of the dash because the Sony was hitting it at the back. The only fly in the ointment is that I forgot to buy a GM antenna adapter. Dohh!!!!
