HOW-TO: 4WD Front Hub Replacement - DISCUSSION THREAD
#12
Hey Hanr3, just a couple questions regarding this...
1. I cant see the pictures... any chance of getting them?
2. Any reputable shops that might be able to do this in the area? I normally try to do this stuff, but the future father in law hasn't done this before and his work schedule is crazy matching up with my school schedule...
3. How far would a couple six packs get me as far as help
?

Actually they were lol. They used a torque bar on a impact gun for the lugs & a torque wrench on the hubs. But I know a lot of places just hit them with the impact gun till it stops. On Steel rims thats not too bad but on alloys etc SPEC IT OUT!!!

What are the torque specs for 97? Could I use this list for my 97 4x4 4dr? Thanks.

You didnt mention torquing anything when you put it back together! I sure hope it doesnt fall apart on ya going down the road! Those 3 bearing bolts need to be 79 ft-lbs and the CV axle nut needs to be torqued to 180 ft-lbs. Most people don't have a torque wrench that goes that high so I just set it at 150, torqued the nut, then gave it a little bit more turn just to be safe.
