How to replace Torsion bar mounts.
#11
I have a 2000 too, ours is different, I didn't have time to check if there was any play with the them but I got to check because I have a clunk under the truck not quite in the front or the rear and nobody have been able to find what is making it.
This is what it looks like for 95 -up

Yeah that's the same part number that rockauto.com has. I guess they are the same for both sides. (And rockauto has it for a few $ cheaper)
I'm going to order two new tbars and mounts. I imagine I'll figure out how to change them when they come in.
Ok, just a question to be answered that I'm concerned about. I had the front end on jackstands, and there was quite a bit of play in the cross member. With weight on wheels, there is hardly any. Are these mounts still considered bad? I know there is a rubber stopper, so maybe that's what caused the play. What is the full procedure to check for a bad mount? I'm still going to replace the T-bar, because they are pretty badly worn out, and look inexpensive and easy to replace.
Also found this on youtube, which is for a Chevy Colorado, but the mounts look similar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EprZDM24hyY
