Baby Powder is awesome, not only does it kill some squeak, but it makes your engine bay smell fresh too

Yeah it's worked every time for me and my associates that have the issue. I can't stress enough though that if the squeak comes back for no reason, its something else and baby powder is not the answer.

I put a new belt on my 85 blazer 4x4 3 months ago, it is squeeling again. It is cold here in tulsa at the moment, for the most part it squeels when i kick on the defrost or heat, as soon as i turn off either it stops?? What might it be?? Thanks...

well........ i would guess you're talking about the 2.8, since the 4.3 was a rarely chosen option. and if i remember correctly, it was still the multiple belt set up.

since it's only your defrost that is setting it off-this would be from your A/C compressor causing drag-i'd start by looking @ the pully for glazing or abnormal wear. i've had to lightly "scuff" (sand) the contact faces of a pully, that continuously squelled.

next time you toss in a question, give us a little more info (regarding engine), since we don't work on your truck, and aren't familiar with it. i'm not raging on you-since i'm guilty of doing the same thing in the past-it just makes it easier to give you a better direction to go in.
