Default '02 4dr: replacement front door speakers?

Okay time/temp has got to the right front door speaker and it buzzes. I took it out and yes the foam around the paper cone crumbles.
Sooooo....need new speakers and I think I will just replace all the door speakers at one time.

The front door speaker measures to be an even 6.0" diameter with about 2.25" depth.

Have not been able to find any 6" speakers; 6.5" yes, 6.75" yes...but no 6" unless I go with a GM replacement speaker...which I would rather not do.

What speakers will fit in the factory location without modification to the blue housing or the door panel integrated speaker grill.

The speaker buzzes so bad that I will not even turn the radio on anymore....so need replies quickly.

Thanks

I used 6.5" without a problem.

Jake is right, 6.5" speakers will fit without much issue. However, why don't you want to replace that crappy, flimsy, no good plastic anyway? The plastic robs output, clarity, and low end response. A strong and solid mounting baffle isn't hard or expensive to make and well worth the time and effort to do.

altoncustomtech: you have a very valid point....think I will get busy and make a new housing out of MDF I have laying around from other projects.

Thanks

No problem. Be sure to seal it up with paint, resin, or something to keep moisture/water from affecting the MDF or any wood you would use.
