Default 03 blazer 2dr 4wd STEREO HELP!

Been looking around the forums and online cant seem to fine my specific car type with the stereo. I need to replace it due to the fact the factory installed has gone out twice and im completely done with it all! Anyone have a guide for taking it out? I can take it out no problem but I got the alarm system and there's a light on the front of the stereo and I don't want to take it out and have my car fail on me. Anyone got some tips before i blow a hundy or so at the dealer?

As far as I know, the "alarm" on the factory HU will not stop the truck from working. I think the security thing is for the HU itself so that if someone removes it from the truck, the HU will not work.

All the anti-theft on the head unit does (if it's the same as mine, and mine in my past cars) is if you remove the unit and it is not connected for a certain timeframe the head unit will simply not work unless you go through a process that includes inputting a 4 digit code which can be retrieved from the manufacturer using the original vehicle's VIN.

ya you should be fine, but if you reconnect it you might need a code.
