15" sub question
#31
i have had 4 of these exact same subs and seized all of them. however they do sound very good in a sealed enclosure.

Here's the new box
Takes up the entire cargo area, and as expected they get much louder!!! The subs don't hit as tight as they did in the 1" mdf sealed enclosure, but they do well in this 3/4" ported. I would guess the box weighs around 180-200lbs or so. I could barely get it in. : P I was gonna spray it with rhino liner, but I couldn't find any so I used PlastiDip. I'll probably rhino line it in the next month or so.
Also, after doing the big three I smell burnt wire or something every time I get out after driving it. Everything works fine. Any reasons to cause this?

...........Didn't think about that when I built it. But it would have to break the back seats down first. I don't see it going anywhere, but I might rig something up just in case, using the tie down brackets on the floor back there.

you probably wont see it move unless you get nto an accident. Anything that isnt secured well in your car will become a missile in an accident.

this is true about it moving in an accident but, i have also heard of bolts being sheered off in accidents and the cargo still hitting the driver. its always good to bolt down, i used a lot of stock bolt holes with extended length bolts myself, but if not, strap it..

Bolt or ratchet strap or something. Might not be pretty, but you could pull em' if you wanna demo or something and then put em' back in afterwards. I had a single 15 in the back of my beamer, along with a lone can of Monster. Went over some railroad tracks and jumped a bit on accident. Can got under the box somehow in the air and I smelled Monster for a week, .
That setup don't look bad, I can't wait to drag my feet through fall/winter and then do mine, ha ha.
