1990 S-10 Blazer 6 x 9 Replacement
Okay guys, first thread. So I was googling around and found the below thread after getting my brand new kicker 3-way 6 x 9 speakers in the mail.

I seen someone posted that they made a spacer of some sort and I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and could throw me some pointers. Thanks.

The spacer is used to move the speaker out to make room to clear for the magnet. It's not too hard to do and I can even make you a template to not just help make it look good, but most importantly to make sure it works really good, if the set doesn't come with one.
Another good thing about the spacer is that it adds mass and helps make the sheet metal stiffer. That helps improve the bass response and clean up the midrange.
All you need is a jigsaw and some MDF or Birch plywood.

I understand, however I just cannot put a mental picture together of how the ones I've seen on ebay would work. Also I found some stock lookalikes that add 1" to the speaker spacing.
