2001 chevy blazer stereo install
Hi guys, I have a 2001 Chevy blazer in Australia and i went to put a new head unit in it, but before i did, i did some research and found out about the theft lock in the factory head unit, now my question is how do i change the head unit with out having to get a reboot on the computer? or how can i do it at home?

The theftlock shouldn't affect it with an aftermarket stereo unless something is WAY different for the vehicles delivered to your side of this big ball.
My truck needed nothing done at all to the computer or any other part regarding the factory theft lock system. I simply removed the factory unit and tossed in the aftermarket Kenwood which I later changed out for a Clarion. No issues at all with either.
If I'm remembering it correctly the theft lock system is just for the factory radios themselves. For instance, I couldn't ship you my factory stereo and it work in your truck without you going to the dealer to get my stereo programmed to your truck.
