Default 2005 ZR2 CD Changer problems

I've been having a problem with my 6-Disc CD Changer. It's the original factory Cd player. I have a 2005 2WD ZR2 with about 120,000 on it.

The problem I believe is the tracking mechanism. If I try to skip through tracks on the CD, I can hear it move back and forth like it can't find the track to play until it kicks out the CD and displays the message "Check CD 1". Lately it's gotten worse, as I go further into the CD (Track 9+) it starts to do this on it's own in the middle of a song. It does this on all CDR's and any normal music CD I'd buy at a store. I like the 6 disc changer and really would not like to get rid of it. Does anyone know of any way to fix this? Any help would be much appreciated!!

Have you tried a laser lens cleaner disc?

I have tried that once, but it didn't make that big of a difference. It also didn't play the CD very well. It was a standard lens cleaner, I have not used one specifically for car audio players.
