Alpine CDA-9885
I just got through installing some new door speakers in my Blazers (like many of you, my front passanger speaker went out). Now to put them to use I am buying an Alpine CDA-9885 as said in the subject. Does anyone have any experience with this headunit? I am interested in Alpine for the iPod connection and good quality. I am interested in this model for the two line display as opposed to the 9883. And also will this headunit be a good choice when it comes time to hook up the sub and amp listed in my sig? Thanks for the help.

RE: Alpine CDA-9885
i have that headunit in my grand prix, i absolutely love it, ipod connection is by far the best on alpine decks IMO, its an awesome choice for system installs, i have a full alpine system in my car and i love it, type r 12's, and type r component set, Alpine is one of the best.

I havent played with that one personally but I hear good things about the iPod menu. And it does have three 4v preouts so there willbe no problem hooking up some amps to this one...

RE: Alpine CDA-9885
Thanks for the help that was the information I was looking for. I had researched it myself and then was at BB with my friends and stopped to look at the hu in person. Then the sales guy approached me and started telling me all of these things that were incorrect (typical BB sales guy, right?). I haven't bought it yet, so please let me know what you think.

Personally, I like Pioneers iPod interface better. And you can pick up the Premier 590IB(which has basically the same features as the CDA-9885) for around $180 shipped...But thats just my preference, I hold nothing against Alpine as they are definately some nice decks...
