Default alpine cde-102 usb issue..

having a small issue with my head unit. i use my USB flash drive for music since they want me to buy a 30$ cable to listen on my ipod. and i can listern to music fine. but the song titles will not appear at all on the screen . it always has letters and a number instead. like t7 or t18 for example. it was my understanding that i could see the song titles on screen. its made navigating pretty annoying. anyone have any potential solutions?

First off, you can find iPod/iPhone cables on eBay for dirt cheap.

2x USB DATA CHARGER CABLE CORD for APPLE iPod iPhone | eBay

There is 2 iPod cables for less than 4 dollars, shipped.

And for the title issue, are the songs titled in your library? If so, you may have to go into the settings on your stereo and see if you can change it that way. Hope that helps. If not, let us know and we can get ya headed in the right direction.

i actually just solved the issue. i kept pressing buttons until the name showed up! (this is with usb) i tried hooking up the ipod cord with my ipod touch(4th gen) that i have and nothing worked still. i have an old fashioned nano im going to try. hopefully this will work. tired of looking down to change songs on my ipod, not fun in traffic.

I agree. When I had my Accord, I had a 30 gig iPod video hooked up in my car, I just tossed it in the glove box and went from there. No fussing with changing songs on the iPod, and it kept it charged.

Read that in the iPod section. Apparently an iPod shuffle cannot be used. Not sure why?
