Default amp

Im looking at buying 2 subs that have 1000 watt rms per sub so if I buy an amp that says it puts out 800 watts rms does that mean it will put out 800 to each sub or 400 to each sub im confused about all this stuff and mono amps and 2 ohm amps what's the difference can anyone help thanks.

Depends on if its 800 watts rms per channel or just total rms, if its 800 watts total then your gonna get 400 per sub, if its x 2 channels then it will be 800 watts.
