amp problems
in our blazers, one of the absolute best grounds is under the drivers side rear seat. lay the back seats down, and lift up that little cover panel. on the side closest to the trim on the drivers side, thereare the seat bolts. there is a bolt right in the middle, a 19mm to be exact, remove that bolt, clean up the metal, and put your ground there.
alright im gonna have to get a bigger ring to fit around those then. but shouldnt my amp still atleast light up? i hooked everything up the remote cable the rca cords the power cord. i checked the power cord and its getting power.
alright i grounded it under my rear seat and still nothing. i tried a different amp even and still nothing. i am getting power to the amp but maybe it just isnt enough? im gonna try and re do the connection on my battery tommorow maybe that will help. any other suggestions?
alright, we have ruled out a ground issue for the most part. , now I want you to take a small piece of eire, like 4 inches, strip off both ends,(can even be 18 gauge wire or speaker wire, and make a half circle with it, put one end in the terminal that has battery line to it, and the other end to the remote lead.
that will power on your amp if you do not have a blown fuse, or have a horrible ground. then your problem lies in making sure that you have the remote wire from the alpine deck wired correctly.
