The whining is definitely coming from the amp through to the speakers. Strange, because it didn't do it today while I drove it.
What do you think would be a good way to wire it for some low end thump(bass)? A good way-not the way I had it!
BTW--Forgot to mention:
I have a passive crossover screwed to the inside of my sub box. I think it has 2 inputs(pos and neg) going into it and 2 outputs(pos and 2 neg's) coming out. Would that help? I had used it once but didn't notice a difference so I just disconnected it. I'm also not using the switch for the built in crossover in the amp itself. I thought with it on it didn't really hit hard at all. I tried adjusting the gain switch for it and I have it adjusted all the way up--sounds the best to me--and it still doesn't hit hard.
Thx

Just replace your head unit it usually caused by bad rca pluggins in the back of your stereo. You can double check by either installing a new one or just get a regular house stereo that has rca plug ins and try it out. its im positive this will work that happened to me but luckily i was going to replace my whole system. at that time i had
head unit: Pionner deck
Door speakers: 4 6 1/2 pionners
Amp: 2 channel Sony Xplod 1200W for subs
4 channel amp for the 4 speakers
Speakers: 2 15" pionneers subs
Im positive the stereo plug ins are going bad but also rarely but could be possible that if your running the positive wire, rcas, remote through the same side that the current may be interfering with the signals but if your not the it is the stereo.
Well good luck man and hope it helps.

How can you wire 2 amps together? I guess you call it in series? One to run the door and dash speakers and the other to just run the subs?
Also--what exactly happens when a speaker stops working? It's hooked up and used to crackle a little bit. Is it possible to even fix one? It's my dash 4x6. It's a Rockford Fosgate speaker.
Thx

That's what the problem most likely is! I ran everything down on one side of the truck-together! I just might have to live with it for awhile. I've rewired it so many times I'd rather live with it then mess with it!

ill have to check them man ive repaired speakers and subs but if they are burned then you must replace the coil its usually what goes out first. But it will probably cost you about the same price as getting a new one. i suggest just get new speakers. and yes i wired the two amps just like you said but running on a secondary battery because im also running and epicenter with the whole system. I also have some lights that im going to hook up on top with a CARR Light bar that are going to be running on the secondary battery as well.

For 2 batteries you need a battery isolator, run a wire from 1st bat + with a fuse to a battery isolator, that is hooked up to ignition and to 2nd bat with a fuse. so once you turn the key on the 2nd battery isolates from the whole system so your wont overwork your alternator. you can also add a circuit braker to manually isolate the battery. i am running them on my stock alternator but im going to upgrade for a higher amp one.
