Default Antenaa wire grommet at firewall

I'm running 0g wire thru here and having hell of a time making room to get the grommet back in.. any suggestions?

I've read people cut them off altogether and filled the hole with silicone?
Should I just keep trimming until it fits? or will it fit?

trying to avoid a wet floor

thanks in advance.

I ran my power wire on the drivers side, but I found a grommet and wrapped Butyl tape around it which is what they use on seems for rubber roofs because I had it laying around. Sorry it really isn't the answer you are looking for but that's my experience with it.

I think I'm gonna buy a grommet kit (sold at auto zone, advance/etc.), find which one fits the hole, and silicone the rest of the area the wires don't fill. I'll take a look into that tape as well, thanks.

That's one reason I hate going through the factory grommets and seals. They're almost impossible to get back in and half the time they still leak even with silicone on them.

I always try to find a good place to drill a new hole and use a grommet at that location. On my Jimmy I used the contour of the floor to my advantage and drilled holes for the 4 gauge and 1/0 at a raised spot under where the passenger seat mounts. I used the grommets that were included in the wiring kits, then for extra measure sealed those with silicone on both sides. It's held up very well so far and so has the very similar way it was done in the van and that's got A LOT more miles, road grime and abuse on it now than the wiring on the Jimmy does.

I wish my wiring kit came with grommets. haha. But I'll come back here once I get everything set and let ya know if it leaks

To the rear of the passenger seat there is an area that is high next to an ared that is low. There is an area that is about 45deg I went in there so the wire lays much flatter. This also keeps the wire out of the interior as much as possible, and the exterior wire was put inside of a piece of garden hose.
