Alright. picked up a scosche slc4 loc. Why? i really dont know. it was dirt cheap at the flea market. Well...i guess i have a use for it if i can use it for what i need it for.

ANYWAYS ive got 2 4x6's,2 4.5"s and 2 6x9's. the 4x6s on my dash is way too loud. When i adjust my levels then the 4.5's are too quiet.

Well, from the look of this lil box i can set gains to what i want. How exactly do i hook this puppy up? I want to turn the gains of my 4x6's down..can i use this for that?

Well, unless you plan on hooking up an amp, that little box is worthless. What that does is convert your speaker wires from the head unit to RCA cables. It allows you to connect an amplifier to a stock head unit, via RCA cables.

The LOC is used to create a pre-amp output (RCA type) to go from your CD player to an amplifier. They're mostly used to add an amplifier to a factory head unit that doesn't have pre-amp outputs. You could indeed use it to modify the output to individual pairs of speakers IF you use an amplifier to power the speakers rather than your CD player.

The LOC does not function like an L-plate or atenuator wired in line after the amplifier before the speaker for turning down the volume of a specific speaker.

If you were going to buy an amp for your door/dash speakers, I'd probably upgrade your head unit. You'll get way more features than the stock unit. I have a JVC (forget the exact model number) but it has 3 sets of RCA preouts (front, rear, and sub) front and rear USB, and I paid like 160 for it. It has changeable illumination. For what I paid for it, it's a nice head unit.

I already have a headunit, its one of the higher line pioneers. Love it. I was just hoping i could use this loc as a gain controller for my front speakers.
