I could find no reference to a relay for the brake light system in any of my manuals or online. I would start by checking all of the fuses. If they all check out fine, then I'd have to test the brake pedal switch. Is this something that just started one day?

Sure they meant relay, or did they mean brake light switch. The brake light switch is attached to the brake pedal under the dash. Simple to replace.
