broken into
let me know. I will send you wiring diagrams to help out. Also, make note on what the door lock pulses are on the unit that you are buying., Some are neg pulse only, some will do both pos and neg. Your doorlocks are positive pulse, so you will either need to get one that has pos doorlock pulses, or you will need to buy two 30amp relays.
And I imagine you are referring to Scytek alarms. They are very nice. But be aware, that most units just offer a shock guard. Glass break sensors are nice, but can be defeated pretty easy as well. Look into the DEi ultrasonic sensor (509U) . It detects a change in cabin air pressure, like a window being broken or even breathing (we have tested it with someone breathing in the back of a suburban and it went off)

Here's what I have. I've been happy with is so far. The one thing that I appreciate with the Viper is that it remembers the programming in the remote. As I tend to disconnect my battery often and wouldn't want to have to reprogram it. I bought it from that site and it was a smooth transaction. I planned on installing the unit myself, but chickenned out. Had it installed by a shop and it took them about 8 hours to do it. I had the dash apart already and installed and wired up the relays for the door locks. I would have attempted it myself, but since it's my DD I didn't want to risk it. After the basic install I added some things to it. I put a switch inline with the status LED so I can turn it off when I don't want it drawing attention. I installed a rear hatch switch (don't know if you already have one or not), hooked up the rear hatch release to the alarm, and installed a battery back up unit. I replaced the battery with one slightly larger (2.8Ah>0.7). I've been wanting to install an additional sensor, such as a proximity or something.
well Im pretty sure I will be buying the auto page. any hints on instalation? and how involved is this? Im thinking cutting/splicing wires, but what else? How much of the dash (and anything else?) needs to be taken apart? thanks
For a basic alarm with Keyless you are going to have to splice into 12+, IGN, GND, Door Lock wire, Door trigger Wire, Hood pin(optional), Run a siren, mount your shock sensor, and a few other things...
You will have to take apart the dash bezel, the dash underbelly(two pieces), and kick panel all on the drivers side. There is a steel column shroud under the dash belly that you will have to unbolt as well...
