decision time.....
well now that everything was stolen from my car last weekend, i am left with the task of building a new system. Some opinions would be greatly appreciated. So far here is where i am at
The HU will be an eclipse AV8022 (local dealer had one laying around cheap)
front stage will be EDi 6500's (theives did not get to those)
need amps and sub stage.
I am considering these amps: Arc audio KAR series or possibly XXK series if i can find a great deal, Possibly Hifonics again Brutus and Zues (2006 models this time), and lastly Zed Audio Gladius 75 x2 @ 4 ohm and the Minlith 600x1 @ 1 ohm. I find the specs on the Zeds to be very impressive and they are made by the original creator of the old school great hifonics amps of the late 80's early 90's Steven Mantz. Opinions please!!!
For subs a local shop on Staten Island designs and builds Ultra performance subwoofers www.ultrasubs.com they sound great and are built solid, i heard them in the demo vehicle with Arc SE series amps (arc and eclipse dealer) also considering the ED ov series subs. any thoughts?? Thanks.

well not really made up my mind yet, but amps are now between the ARC and ZED's and subs are between ED and ULTRA, i am also considering a down firing sealed box this time.

I had a ported box, it took up most of the cargo area and i think that is why i got robbed, so easy to see even with the cargo area covered with the shade. i actually thought of doing a box that was ported and the subs were inside of it, kinda like a false floor that would cover the entire cargo area maybe like 8 to 10" tall and the only thing visible would be the port, but everyone tells me it will sound like doo doo!! (tryin to stay "G" rated LOL) I loved my ported box even when i had audiobahns in it; it sounded good... imagine that a box that could make bahns sound good!!! need some idea's here, i think i am going to go with the ZED amps, i spoke to Steven Mantz last night... the guy is amazing with all that knowledge plus his amps are seriously under rated!
