Deck dying???
I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P690UB that's only about 1.75 years old. Well, awhile ago, it started clicking and popping randomly while playing music (reguardless of the input) and now it does it when I accellerate, when the tranny shifts, when i change songs. Well, I got fed up and decided to troubleshoot.
So far I've sent my amp in to get repaired (ironically fryed shortly after the deck issue started) and started the Big 3 (got the alt to batt & batt neg upgraded). I called pioneer and even though it's under 2 years they're being a**-hats because i didn't buy it from a "Certified Pioneer" dealer. I plan on upgrading the ground to the deck to continue troubleshooting, but has anybody else had this problem? Am I missing something simple? Or do i just have a lemon for a deck?

Is there a whine in it at all? It most likely has something to do with the power somewhere; if it's popping when you accelerate and shift, it's going with the power the alternator is putting out. Do you have after market amps?

Yeah, I have a Crunch P1400.2, it just got replaced cause something fried in it and I couldn't get any signal from the RCA outs. There used to be a whine but it dissapeared awhile ago. It's kinda wierd, to me, it seems like the problem only appears when the engine reaches operating temps or when I've driven for a long period of time with a lot of starting/stopping of the engine. I can drive 20 min to the next town with no problems, stop @ a gas station, start my engine back up and get nothing but clicks and pops. Could it be the alternator itself??? It's only around 1-1.5 years old.
