Default RE: FM Transmitter

Wife just came home with one that someone left behind in one of the apartments when they moved out. Just tried it with my home receiver and it works like a charm, will keep you updated once we try it in the Blazer.

My buddy has this same deck in his jeep and he couldnt get any FM trasmitters to work with it. For some reason that deck doesnt receive well from those. We finally got him to get the ip bus cord and it works like a champ.

Actually now that i think about it i had the same issue with my pioneer deck when i first got sirius. I couldnt get reception to save my butt but i got the ip connector after a week and its been smooth sailing since.

I has decent luck with an FM transmitter. It was the style that plugged into the bottom of my iPod. The nice fetaure was that you could change the wavelength instead of having three or four preset ones. Sometimes I had great reception, and other times it wasn't very good at all. That cganged when I bought a new Pioner deck (DEH-4900IB) and an iPod interface cable. It works great... no more having to scroll through the iPod now that I can use the head unit itself.

I tried the whole FM transmitter thing with the stock stereo. It sucked going on long road trips cause you got to change the station when you get static, especially by the high powered power lines. So before I switched to the new deck I just got a cassette adapter and that worked great. Once I got the new Blaupunkt deck I just got the RCA in cable which works great.

I think you could look to see if you have the cassette player wiring and figure out what the wiring is and wireup your own adapter for Left and Right audio, you would have to do some research on that. Hope this helps.
