can I use a 150w bulb in a driving light that came with a 55w bulb?

Damn... That is quite the wattage change. I would first be worried about the wiring handling the added current draw. The next thing would be the heat output and its affects on the housing.

hmm, thats what i was wondering about. I already rewired the lights with some heavy duty 12ga but not sure on the heat.
