help on installing a volt gauge
just wondering how the wiring is done on this. i had enough of the stock volt gauge, its so wrong its not even funny. battery was reading 14.4 through a volt meter and thegauge was reading around 13.7 i believe. i just know it was below 14 easy on the gauge. if this is the wrong section for this im sorry. so i now believe ppl whe they stock gauges are not always right.

RE: help on installing a volt gauge
i have a stinger one, it comes with 3 wires, pos +, neg -, and turn on wire, i just have it ran straight to my amps to monitor them. you can run pos and neg to your front battery, and either use a switch to turn it on, or tap the turn on wire to an accessory that turns on when you start the car. mine use to be mounted at the top of drivers pillar like in this old pic, now i have mine above the rear seatbelt on passenger side.

RE: help on installing a volt gauge
its not gonna be exact exact but you can adjust it to be pretty close, i used a dmm to tune this stinger one, you can pop the cover off and there is a screw you turn to adjust the reading up or down and match it with what your dmm is reading. when i had it at the top of my pillar like in the picture i just ran the wires behind the pillar, down under the carpet and back to my amp. right now its on the rear passenger side on the plastic above the seatbelt on that pillar, i drilled a hole, mounted it there and ran wires behind that plastic then down to my amp, it was only like a 6 ft run
