RE: High Pass Filter?
A HPF is usually a feature of either an amplifier or a head unit. What it does is cuts down anything below its set frequency. This is mostly used on mids and highs to keep the bass out of them..
It seems like what you need is a crossover or equalizer. This will split a main signal one of many ways and give you frequency range dispertion for your mids, highs, and subs...
But before I reccomend anything further, What equipment are you running now and what is your need for a HPF???

RE: High Pass Filter?
A HPF does not "send your highs" anywhere. It simply filters them out. Please list out all of your equipment so we can tell you if you arent utilizing something to its fullest which may solve your situation.

What is your basic concern or goal you are trying to accomplish? Are you trying to stop your factory mids from playing low bass notes?

RE: High Pass Filter?
yeah, i keep blowing speakers because i have to much bass going through them. this was back when it was in my cutlass, i want to stop it before any speakers blow in the blazer.

RE: High Pass Filter?
Pick up some bass blockers. They are basically a series of resistors that act as a high pass filter. They go inline on the positive lead going to each speaker...They come in pairs and they are labeled with the cut-off frequency. 100-400Hz is usually the range they come in. you should be okay with anywhere fron 200-400hz. You can pick these up online at places like crutchfield.com or I believe Circuit City stocks them...To do all 4 speakers you will need two sets..
In the future i would reccomend getting a better deck with independant subwoofer control and a HPF...
