How do i get through the firewall?

Question How do i get through the firewall?

i got everything i need bought and im starting on it tomorrow. Only thing i been wondering all day is where on earth i run the power cable to the battery and through the firewall. I pulled back the carpet on the passenger side and found a plug type deal but looking under the truck i think it sits behind the wheel well but i dunno. where did yall run yours and how should i do mine? thanks guys

Plus its a 2001 ZR2, since it seems they changed alot in 02

on my 96 I have mine going though the drivers side hole above the brake pedal.

follow the fuse box wiring. This works on EVERY vehicle.

thanks yall. i found a spot in the big rubber piece on the drivers side where all the wires come through. can i ask real quick though, do i need the inline fuse holder? cuz my amp has fuses

the inline fuse is to protect your wiring, not your amp. If your wire is longer than 18", yes, you need an inline fuse (must be within 18" to the battery)

Why go on the drivers side? Then you have to either go to the fusebox lug or cross over the engine bay to get to the battery. On the passenger side, find the antenna wire that goes through the firewall. The rubber around it is large enough to put the amp wiring through.

yup thats what i did. works good and cant be seen =]
