So hey guys, I'll be upgrading my system sometime soon. Right now I have dual 12" Pioneer Champions in a custom built ported box being powered by a Kenwood 1000w amplifier.

I want to upgrade to something more powerful, harder hitting, etc.
I was debating on whether I want to do dual 18" subwoofers or just add 6 more 12" subwoofers to my current setup.

Is it stupid to run 8 12's? Would only be 4000 watts coming from my alternator, which I'll need to upgrade anyway.

I'll be getting another battery to power these when my vehicle is off, and I'll wire it with a switch so I can allow it to charge while it's running.

So, opinions?
