I recently bought new door speakers for my 96 4 door jimmy. I took the panel off and the factory speaker is in some sort of plastic housing that is rivited to the door. How do I replace these. I bought a setof 6.5 alpinetype s coaxials to replace them with. Any help will be appreciated

Look and there will be 4 small torx bit screws under the foam. Unscrew those and the speaker will pull out, cut the connector and splice your new wires in. Enjoy!

there was a recent thread about a guy fitting new door speakers and they didnt line up to the factory holes. so u might wanna watch out for that and if they dont line up then just drill new holes.

When I replaced mine with 6.5" I did notice they barely fit. But I lookon on a caraudio site and it says our blazers use a 6 3/4" speaker.

Thanks guys for your replies. I replaced them with kenwood excelon coaxials andthey sound great. The screw holes did not exactly line up but I was able to make it work. You have to put three screws in and working them in a little at a time.
