Ive been reading these forums for a while now and have answered many of my own questions but i still have a couple that i was wondering if some one could help with.
I have a 2004 blazer ZR2 this will be my first dvd head unit install, i have done many other stereos in the past on my old ZR2.
First I was told i would need a different wire harness one that will have a separate power wire that needs to be fed into the fuse box.
And my last question is if i need a metra kit.

You should be able to buy a harness adapter and use the stock wiring. I cant imagine you would have to run a new power wire.. Browse though the instruction booklet that comes with it just to double check but you should be good.

Does your car have a double din? If not then you will need to get a special dash kit to make this fit, or make one. Blazer come with a 1 1/2 din size radio so a 2 din wont fit. It is possible to get a double din in there you just need to do the right things.
About a separate or fuse block power lead, it all depends on the head unit. My friends Kenwood DVD player needed a direct connection to the battery as a constant power. I went though the instruction manual and it looks like you will not need to do that and a regular wire adapter will be all you need.
The way to bypass the DVD not working while driving is to ground the green wire. Just a little FYI...
