Man, parents these days.

Yes, you should be installing this yourself. It is not hard at all, makes for a great learning experience, and you will seriously feel like a pro after the first time. And they do have a deck installation thread here, don't they? Personally, I think its easier than changing a tire, but that's me. Just find a reputable shop to do it. I wouldn't take a chance at Best Buy or Circuit City cuz most of their installers aren't too bright. No this isn't true at every store, but still not worth the risk IMO.

well it all came and i installed it today and its very nicely done i think

wish i had a camera to show you guys but i need money!

well yesturday i bought a new deck, a pair of 6.5 speakers, a pair of 6X9 speakers, wire harness and a antenna adapter. got my dash all apart stock radio is out. then i ran into a problem in my wire harness there is a red wire with a not that says that i need to hook it up to a fuse box because they dont have a wire for it. and also the plug does not match up. i dont get it. i told the guy my model and everything and it says on the plastic gm 1998-2006 (24 pin). also the old radio had two plug in's the new deck only has one. please help
