My blazer came with a stock head unit with am/fm only, and a 10 disc changer that didn't work. So I removed the changer, and I just installed a JVC KD-AR870 (the Aresnal version of the KD-G820). This is my first JVC and so far I am impressed. It has 2 line outs, a sub out, a aux input, an ipod input, and best of all, it has a USB jack on the front of the unit that you can plug a mp3 player, thumb drive, or even a hard drive if you run power for it. I tested it with my cheapey 64 MB MP3 player I won at my old job. I just plug it in and it detects it immediately and then starts playing. You can scroll through the files right from the radio. I am going to pick up a 1 or 2 GB thumb drive in the coming days. That should suffice. All in all a great radio and I recommend it. The regualar KD-G820 (which I think is the same radio, just that the Arsenal version has a longer warranty) you can get from Crutchfield for $200, which is pretty good imho. I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow if I get a chance. It was rather late when I installed it and it's dark out so the picture wouldn't be that great. I just found the Arsenal version for a little under $200 on Overstock.com. I just wanted to throw a link up to show the unit and I found this. By the way, I lucked out because my bosses are still JVC dealers so I got mine at cost.

Yeah, I think I will too. I will probably throw in the amp and small sub I have in my car currently. I was going go sell them with the car, but I think I might like to add them to the truck. It is just a 10" sub. I am not one to listen to it loud anymore. Been there, done that. I just am going to go for decent overall sound.

Well I added the amp and sub today. I forgot to take pics of the radio (I'm an idiot). The box is a small sealed box that I believe was made for small trucks. I used it in my Talon cause it is so small and it sounded incredible in there. In the truck, there is obviously a lot more air space and it has a lot less punch. Now as I said before, I really don't listen to it that loud anymore, but I would like to be able to turn up the levels and have it crank. It sounds like there is a ratted kind of a sound coming from the sub. Now I am not sure if it is driving too hard or if there is something physically loose on the box somewhere. Would I be best off getting a different box or a more powerful amp? I am pretty sure there is no problem with the sub itself, as it hit very, very hard in the Talon. So much so that no one could believe it was only one 10". Both the sub and amp are Rockford Fosgate Punch but I do not know the model numbers right now. Anyway, it sounds pretty good with most stuff, and I am happy with it more or less, but am wondering what would be needed to be able to get more punch out of it. Here is a picture of the sub and amp. Sorry it's so dirty, I had to call it quits to start barbequeing. It was my bday today so had to do some family stuff too. I actually have to hide two more wires, just ran out of time.

you will notice a huge difference for a few reasons.
The air space in side the vehicles is very different. the amount of air the speaker moves effected the sound very differently in the talon. the talon was smaller and you could get more out of a lil bit.
My suggestion, double up the subs and maybe even go with 12's. then you could keep the amp and RF theme but get the bump you want.

Nice setup. Thats how i started.
Rockford Punch Stage 2 12" at like 400 watts I believe it was.
I loved it. somehow i got a 139.1 legal on the termlab O.o
But yea You should give it some more air to work with cause those truck boxes really arent good for subs lol.
Or also do what Josh suggested

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll search for a larger box. I'd like to keep it a single sub since I don't really want it TOO loud and I still would like to have some space in the truck. I still may use it for work from time to time.
