Default Loose Fuse and Stereo Cut Out

For a few months I was having intermittent problems with my radio cutting out (Losing Power) and coming back on. It would also cut out when I turned on a lamp light on the rear view mirror. My head unit is a pioneer and I solderd all the connections so i did not think it was the connections. But there is bunch of wires bundled up behind the head unit so I took the center dash apart to pull the radio out off the opening figuing I would find a loose or grounded wire but no luck. Then I looked in the owners manual and pulled the fuse for the radio/map light and put it back in and the stereo powered up. I then wiggled the fuse and power would come on/off with just a little movement of the fuse. Replaced the fuse and all is well. The strange thing was I did not lose memory or blow any fuses while this was going on.

sounds like you were having problems with the switched power feed. What color is the red from your radio connected to?

Yes is was the switched power feed fuse. (Red to Red of the factory harness) The loose fuse in the fuse box was causing the intermittent faults. It would come and go so when it was not acting up I did not worry about it. Finally I got fed up and decided to get to the cause. I knew there was a loose connection, but i did not think that it was going to be the fuse in the fuse box
