remote starter "trunk release" questions?
I'm trying to interpret all the mumbo jumbo...
I have an AutoPage-622 Remote Starter, I would like hook up the trunk release to "pop" the back hatch. Now I have read that I must use a relay, and I have a bunch of relays. I am also assuming that i can just run a wire to the back of the "trunk release" switch. But as for what wire goes were I am lost.
I have read that: Trunk release is black wire @ BCM, etc, etc.
but i would rather hook it to the release button (on dash).
Can anyone help me with this? do i ground one side? do i juice one side? which side of the switch do i splice into?

It is a black (+) at the switch. what is the output from your autopage system? Neg or positive??

And since I got you on the subject.
where the heck is the best place to get a tach signal? I tried the white wire from the red pcm connector. its no good i get like 14v when i believe im after 1v-6v right? help!

use the first relay diagram on that page I liked to. On the tach, you are in ac voltage when you are checking for tach correct? You can grab it gng into the cluster, there are several white wires, one will test. Or at the white wire in ECM in plug labeled white.

Much thanks billy!
Ok, cool, I got it all working...
BUT...
The trunk latch wire is 'black/white' wire on the back of the switch not the 'black' wire.
and the tack wire is indeed the WHITE wire on the WHITE PCM plug.
i have a 96 with 4.3l, and I dont know what the heck the white wire on the red PCM plug is but it sure as heck AINT the tach wire!
the relay circuit works great!
