NOT true, i had bought 2 pioneer IMPP's (10") and 760watt? amp (pro series), from WAL-MART, put into a band-bass box, and showed 176db at the dash of a Hyundai Accent. So, not everything is junk there, you just have to know how to put it all together to make it sound right. Oh, I think everything cost about $375. An alternative --- go to www.crutchfield.com, they have the best selection and have clearance and scratch-n-dent items, plus expert advice and how-to's (i should be a sales rep)

WAL-MART has brand name stuff. Just stay away from the store brand speakers......I dunno if you have a Meijer by you, but they sell Lightning Audio, which is made by RF and is a descent price for some descent power...

Thumbs up

Okay go to: http://www.sonicelectronix.com before you do anything on that site, click on "Liquidation Station" and check out the daily deals... they usally have really good deals on Open Box / Factory Refurbished Items... Then you can check the regular categories on the website... I have ordered from this site quite a few times...

I picked up my 15" Kicker Solobaric L7 and a Phoenix Gold Amp with a Ported Box from them last summer and It's worked great ever since....

I also just ordered my Viper 5901 Remote Start/ Keyless Entry/ Alarm system from them for $297.99 (Open Box Deal) it came in last week and I installed it and it runs Flawless...

I'm sure you will find EVERYTHING you need there and they also carry home electronics and Marine electronics.... Hope this helps you out man...

A friend of a friend, who does car audio competitions, had the meter. Im not sure what kind, if your talking about brand. Anyways, he stuck it to the windshield, i turned the stereo up, using a bass-test cd, and read the meter @ 176db. You could see the flimsy *** roof pushing in and out, so it must have been pretty loud.

"good sound" and "loud" are 2 completely different things and more often than not they dont relate to each other.
