I've always liked Pioneer and JVC for reasonably priced stuff. I have a Pioneer that cost me around $150 (well, it cost me less because I got it discounted when I worked part-time at an electronics store). I also bought my girlfriend a nice JVC head unit and it worked awesome until it was stolen from her Jeep [&:]. Those are my picks. I DON'T like Sony products, but that is for not just stereo equipment...that bias ranges throughout all their products.

I too have liked Pioneer head units, but I never have been an audiophile by any means.

Pyramid or Kraco. Along w/ a 20 band EQ and 300watt boost.

pioneer, you can get a dehp 5800, pretty much has most bells and whistles, for about 160.
