Noob question about speakers

Default Noob question about speakers

As I add speakers to the amp the rms/ max wattage stays the same right? 2 speakes 1000 watts max a piece =1000 watt max?

I'm not too sure on what the question is. I'll give an example. If your amp does 1000 watts @ 2 ohms, and you have a speaker that is hooked up at 2 ohms, the amp is capable of producing 1000 watts. Therefore the speaker receives full power. If you have the same amp with 2 speakers still running at 2 ohms, the amp is still producing 1000 watts, but each speaker receives half the power (500 watts each). As long as the impedence (ohms) stays the same, the amp will produce the same amount of power. The more speakers added, the power is divided amongst them. Then when you start changing the impedence, that will affect the amp's output power.
