So i sold my types r's a few weeks ago and friday i got my new child in. i built a box for it and there will be pictures comming. i got a fully loaded 10 inch FI Q, it is wonderful. it doesnt hit as hard as the type r's but thats not what i was asking for. i wanted amazing sound quality and it does the trick. dont get me wrong this thing does get busy, but it sounds even better. ill get a picture and post it in a few hours.

I've heard nothing but good things about FI drivers. Do you know its max SPL in your truck?

Yeah, the F1 woofers are amazing. I've watched numerous videos on You Tube and Realm of Excursion.

Isn't that box a bit small? Or, did you build it to factory specs?

The BTL 18 should require a permit to own lol. My 3x JL 12W1's max out a little over 132dB.

specs right from fi! they called for a 1/2 cubic foot for the q sealed. before i get someone yelling about sealing up an fi sub, i got the high qts option so it can be sealed.

and 2nd that on the btl 18 that thing is a monster! hell for w1's thats not a bad score. what amp are you running? are where running at the time? and do you have pics of your setup?

something isnt right here then. Either your enclosure isnt built for max SPL and/or you are underpowering them. I have personally witnessed 4 6W0's produce 148db no lie. So i am more than confident that 3 12W1's can do a lot more than 132db. My SQ setup can do more than 132db

the new w1s don't have a lot of output but are good little subs. 132 is a good score for them if the box isn't built for spl. if its tuned to the jl specs which is like 30hz, there is no chance of huge scores with that tuning.

i would love to hear what the Fi sounds like. i bought the w7 i currently am staring at in its box purely for the loudness factor. its a great sub that can round out any system with nice easy bass but at the same time when volume cranked can make your heart skip a beat or two.

The only Fi i have ever heard was a 15 SSD that a kid had in his escort seat belted into the back seat because it was too big to fit in the trunk haha. it was loud but not clear at all.... he also powered it with a hifonics amp that had 4 gauge wiring plugged into its 0 gauge terminal, $8 rca's from autozone, and a crap Dual radio that had half the buttons messed up... He lives down the street from me.

your setup looks clean and simple. i like that. my setup is too indepth for easy tuning and easy alterations. i'm still trying to find time to finish it since classes started and work got going again.. sigh... the life of a car audio fanatic

haha thats so true.

well after half a week its starting to get a bit louder. when i got it i couldn't move the cone at all, it felt like cement. maybe after it breaks in it will start smashing out windows. haha its pretty bomb for a 10 im not even going to lie. fi's specs said 9.25 inch hole for the sub to drop in, so i cut it 9.25 and when i went to drop it in the magnet barley fit and the sub was sticking out an inch. once i screwed it in though it went right down, that is the tightest fit for a sub iv ever had. im gonna say the tighter the better but when you put in subs do you do that topper? im just wondering if thats like a normal procedure that i was never informed on.

i moved all the amp wires and amp so for the pictures... (its not that clean) i need to make an amp rack.

how do you like the sealed box in your truck? I had 2 12" apline type r's sealed in my truck and it sounded horrible compared to my little inifinty 10" in my ported box. I'm getting a new sub in the mail tomorrow too. Always fun to get new stuff
