True true, impedence rise is another factor along with heat dissapation that will limit what the amp can do. Hifi sound connection . Com is a authorized Kicker dealer that sell Kicker refurbished amps. They get some good deals from time to time, just another place to think about.

i myself am a big fan of refurbished amps from a dealer. gotta love a fixed amp that has warranty as good as a new one. and Blazinloud, i hear you on that, i'm just trying to keep it simple because as is i lose people when explaining the basics (in my mind the basics) and want to keep it as simple as possible ya know?

Screwed, thanks for the applause, greatly appreciated

Your welcome. I always admit when I'm wrong, but rarely admit that someone is more versed and experienced in car audio. But you are.

I wonder what the OP has decided to do about his amplifier purchase? One guy starts a thread around here and us turkeys just gobble away and we don't hear from the op for a while.

I'm 24 and I normally only get along with people 30+. I get around teens and feel like a old man. I can't relate or hardly hold a conversation with them. But oh well.

Enough about your love stories. I work out of town so I don't get a chance to get on very much. Usually at the bars after work until it's time to go home to the Motel. I think I'm going to go with a refurbished Kole 3000w class D. Found them for 200ish. I was thinking of a 5 cubic foot ported box. Don't know why, but I was

I've heard Kole's not bad. If I remember right Kole, Power Acoustik and one other company are all owned under one name. But Kole is normally tested a lil better and harder than the rest of them, or so I've heard. You looking at the QX1-3000D? 2300 watts at 1 ohm sounds a bit high. I hope it works for ya.

They are hard to find anymore, but if you could find a Audiopipe AP3000.1D, I think you'd love it. It's pretty much two 1500 watt amps strapped together in one big case. Does rated power. But they are getting hard to find, I think some place through Amazon had em' for around $500. But whatever route you go, hope it works and tell us how it goes!
