Audio/Video Electronics Wired up? If you have some sort of A/V modification let's hear about it here. Discussion of stock electrical problems should be done in the 'Lighting & Electrical' section.

cause it will fry due to having crappy parts? lol sorry, but i'd take a quality build over slightly more power anyday of the week.

and power output is not even half the story with amplifiers. damping factor is also very important as well as effeciency, and well, durability.

Im not saying they are the best, or even remotely close to the quality of similar, all I was trying to say was they are solid amps if you compare them to the rest of the Lanzar line-up. I'm not saying run out and buy them...

i bet the opti series amps are comparable to hifonics brutus, just cheap power. build quality and quality of parts used is probably crap
Here's some pics of the internals from amp guts. Not the best but gives an idea for ya.

Damn right there's a HUGE diffrence between those two amps. Ones pretty good and ones just down right freaky nasty awesome (the sundown being the awesome one BTW). Nothing from Lanzar is or ever will be near sundown, JL, or any other high quality amp maker. Putting Lanzar and Sundown in the same sentence is like comparing a vespa scooter to a rolls royce phantom . But as far as the "cheap" brands, I have had great success with it. Very clear, crisp bass, doesn't get hot. But I like taking cheaper brands and making them sound good just to show that while not all cheap brands are good, you can have a decent set-up for half of what the guy at the audio shop says "you have to have to be slappin mane". No offence to any installers or shop workers on here.

As a company, I hate Lanzar. They put out a crap product, change the name and look and raise the price even though its the same crap as before. Like the MAXPRO line of subs they renamed optipro or something like that and are asking double the $$$ it was as the MAXPRO name. I had a 1200 watt (lol amp said 1200 watts, more like 500 rms) sony Xplod amp from walmart I got as pay off on a debt I was owed. For kicks I PUNISHED that amp in ways I'm ashamed to think of. I would bridge it into 2 ohms, (it was only 4 ohm stable bridged,) and just heat it up till it would shut off and be as hot as the sun! I torchered that amp everyday it was in my vehicle, almost 2 years straight. What happened to it? Sold it to a friend and it's been powering a jbl 12 and sounds great never gave him any problems for the 7-8 monthes he's been running it. Was it a crappy amp? Oh hell yes. Was it a good amp? It sure took a beating and never failed me. Agian, your results may vary. But it has to say something about the manufacture cause I have horrid luck and I know I didn't just luck out and get the few good models of crappy amps, lol.

BTW "frying due to crappy parts"? I had to replace that rf1000.1bd because one day in the middle of a song it went from normal to only allowing engine/alt noise into the subs. I tried another amp, no problem. I tried that rockford in 2 other vehicles, it did the same thing. Every amp can fail. I admit most quality amps last longer cause they are in the hands of true car audio fans. And the cheap brands end up in the sinister claws of people who think the gain control is the volume of the amp and it and the bass boost has to be on 10 always. I've owned amps from ;Crunch, bazooka, california profile, sony, and two from lanzar. The only one that ever failed on me in anyway was that Rockford. Not trashing Rockford at all, I actually like them a good deal. I'd love to get a T2500 and try it out! Just sharing how the opti has treated me.

ANYWHO, I wanna see some more systems!

yes, most amps have thermal protection which will shut down the amp before any damage happens, so the thermal protection circuit works.....does it make it a good amp, no

Here's mine, it's pretty basic

Punch 300 4 chan amp,2 rockford p2 subs, alpine usb only head unit
Ran it through the interior under the back seat and clamped the box down to a hard point on the frame, and the amp is screwed to the space behind the seats when you put them down (the girlfriends dog sometimes ride back their so it was dirty

please tell me that power wire really isnt just dangling in the engine compartment like that. And please tell me that enclosure is actually SECURED to the vehicle and isnt a missile waiting to happen.

It's an 85lb box of course it is, it's secured to a hard point on the frame underneath the rear bench seat, as for the wire currently it is but it's routed so nothing will touch it, it hasn't proved a problem (it's been in about 2 years now)

Well all I've got done on my blazer stereo so far is just the head unit. But my Caprice is almost done!!! It is a GM product at least. JL amps and JL 13.5W6's No head unit. Just a desktop computer with voice activation.
