One of the links that has been posted on here comparing different deadening materials actually tested out roofing materials. From what I remember it didn't do too bad comparitive to it's price VS peel and stick made for automotive use and it's price.

All 4 of my doors rattle pretty bad, but I think it's the door panel itself. When I put pressure on the door panel the vibration stops. I guess that's something you can't really prevent. They make those things that go around the speakers though which cut out vibration.

Dynamat works outstandingly IMO!!!! Its kinda pricey but worth it when all is quiet till you turn you system up and you hear that first solid booooooommmm and then in that moment its all worth it!!!!

the aluminim foil layer in sound deadening is the most important. The thick the better. I have the trunk lid in my car completely filled with expanding foam as well and it works wonders. Lead sheets ar ethe absolute best way to dampen any sounds but it is EXTREMELY expensive and adds a lot of weight. Lead is also not the safest to work with.
As for dealing with your bolts that like to loosen, use some thread lock on the bolts and you should be fine.
