Default Steering Wheel Radio Controls

So, anybody know how to remove and clean the steering wheel radio controls? I'm about ready to start prying, but I figure I'd ask first.

Thanks,
Joshua

Remove the air bag and unscrew them...

So, rather than removing the airbag, I just popped of the outside of each control button (didn't take he entire button off) and sprayed some electronics cleaner into the button, and worked the buttons back and forth a few times. Worked like a charm. We'll see if it lasts.

It's been about four days since I sprayed the controls with electronics cleaner. They're still working great.

Ive just had my steering wheel radio controls stop working too. I also got a ABS light. Thinking its the clockspring. Anyone know where to get a new one or replacement?

my controls work, but all but one light in them has burnt out... are the bulbs easily replaceable on them once you get the covers popped off or are they soldered into place?

I had mine go out one time and thought I could relace the lamps/bulbs. But no bulbs, mine were surface mounted. Now if you can solder, you might be in luck. I just went to GM and bought a new set, been fine ever since.

I have no problems soldering at all

hell, I soldered about 30 SMD LED's into the cluster of my 06 Tacoma just because I didn't like the orange color and wanted them blue lol
