Default Stock stereo question

Will a stock cd player from a 1998 blazer fit in a 1997 jimmy?

Try measuring the dimensions of it if you have one already. I know how much of a pain in the a$$ it is to take the 95-97 dash apart, so here are the dimensions of a stock 95-97 radio (it happens to be sitting in a box right next to me)... 4 1/4"H X 6 3/4" D X 8"W. the depth dimension includes the rear support bolt (5 1/8" without), the height includes all of the plastic face (some of it is hidden when installed), and the width is the metal chassis, which is a little narrower than the face. hope this will keep you from having to take the dash apart to find out

Hes probably better off finding a 98 or 99 CD player for his, theyre easier to find than the early stock CD players.

Will the head unit fit...yes. Of course, mounting the radio will be a challenge, as they have completly different mounting styles.

I would recommend buying a solid aftermarket headunit, as they will give you better sound and perform better than a stock head unit.

Good luck to ya!!!
