Default SUB BOX PROBLEM




i got a pair of jl audio w1 subs and the ported box their in is messed up. on each sub 1 screw will not go in even if u turn it the wood behind it is gone so when the subs hit air gets through cause no screw any suggestions besides bying a new box

Sounds to me that your box was poorly built. Glue should be the ultimate bonding medium and not the screw...If its not something that cant be fixed with wood glue then I would recommend building a new enclosure...

If its a prefabricated box toss it in the nearest dumpster and build yourself a good one...

I wouldnt be so concerned with a tiny leaky spot. It is a ported enclosure after all. It isnt going to make a huge difference. If it still bugs you, build a better enclosure.

just fill the hole with some wood filler, let it dry, and screw in ur sub.....or like other said, dont worry about it.
