that is how I have my ground, I would personally not run it up to the battery, but that is just me, ground it as close to the amp as possible. I would check the ground, and clean up the spot it connects to again, and put some dialect grease on there. Also, check all the connections that go into the amp (ground, power ect) make sure they are all secure.

i will definitely check my ground. yesterday i had to put in a new battery and the sound is so much quieter when it does come. also when i turn my truck on, as soon as the radio powers up the sub bumps one time. it always always has, but im bringing it up because when i put the new battery in it seems like that bump is also much quieter. so maybe that bumping means i had a bad connection in the first place? my ground is definitely getting checked

Make shure to check the ground connections at the battery side too.
And the ground connection of your engine. Those are often overlooked but are as much important as the ones in the back.

Have you done the big 3 yet? Are you sure you have sufficient power for the amp?

That once bump in my past experience is an indication of a bad ground somewhere, either the battery or the amp.

thanks rich photos, didnt have a chance to look at the ol girl today but ill check out my ground. i figured that bump ment something because sometimes its loud and sometimes its quieter
