I agree with the capacitor thing. I had one on my old system and it reall didnt do much accept the lights. But i dont really know if it would work well with my new system at all . (6 kicker Comps(1800watts)) surprisingly just a yellowtop is working for me on that.

if your having problems with dimming lights the first thing you should do is upgrade the BIG3. the BIG3 is 1. the positive wire from the alt to the bat, 2. the ground wire from the bat to the chassis, and 3. the ground wire from the chassis to the engine. Theres no need to remove the stock wires, just add new wire. You should use 0 gauge wire. Some people like to put a fuse in on the alt to bat wire, but i dont see it as necessary. if this doesnt help, then you should next consider a high output alternator.
