Default RE: System questions ?!?!?!

In my Blazer (95 4 door LT) there are a total of 6 speakers. 4 6" speakers in each door and 2 tweeters on the dash (not sure on the size of those). As soon as I got my Blazer I took out the POS Delco deck and replaced it with a Clarion (which is now an Alpine) deck, and replaced all the speakers (except the dash tweeters) with an Infinity component setup, so I have replaced the Delco door speakers, and drilled 1" holes (the size of the tweeters) at ear level in the door panels, and what a WORLD of difference. The speakers more then easily keep up with my subs, and it sounds so clear and natural, so yes tweeters are for sure worth it because you can create a whole new soundstage. It's a good idea to move the tweeters around and play some music and find the best location for them before you do any drilling. As far as caps go, it's a hugely debated subject, but I think it's a good idea to use one if your pushing more then 800 watts RMS, but it also depends on the strength of your battery/alternator.

im pretty sure they're 6 1/2" speakers and a 3/4" tweeter in a plate in the dash......buy a component set and tweeters and crossovers come with it, ditch the cap and dash speakers and get a lil 50x2 2 channel amp.

OH and if your UN AMPED speakers can keep up with your subs.........YOUR NOT LOUD ENOUGH [8D]
