What battery do you run your system off of?
Argo123, Optimas are crap since the sell out. I used to be a big supporter of them and ran yellow tops for years. Get the Deka battery, you can get a better price on them if you buy one of the ones o'reillys has thats a rebadge. Its the same battery just a different label. What kinda CB you looking at? I just started installing my uniden 78 elite in my blazer and been offered a good price on a linear so I might go for that also.
NoPh33rRaCiNg, I don't know where you got your info but yellow tops are also a starting battery and work fine for that. The only one that is a deep cycle only is the blue top (marine) optima.
red top, cranking only
yellow top, hybrid: cranking and deep cycle
blue top, marine: deep cycle only

I saw the Deka Intimidator at a local hardware store for $130...looked like it had been there a while to. There's a CarQuest around here that also sells rebranded Dekas, and a local battery supply place that I'll check out.
Does the Intimidator model preform well in sub zero temps? Winter is coming here...
I ran a blue top in my jimmy for a few months then went to red tops. Only reason was because the blues are for the blazer, and I couldn't find blues again at that time. I have the dual purpose starter/deep cycle blue top optimas. Not all blues are deep cycle only. I also bought them before the company changed hands or whatever. Right now though I will try to sell my blue tops so I can get 8 group 31 deka intimidators =)
I went to my local battery place today and asked about the Deka Intimidators and the guy said it might not fit in the battery compartment on my 04 Blazer. He said he could order me one and I'd have it in a week, but I should double check to see if it will fit.
Is there any modifications to anything I need to do under the hood to get it to fit, or is it just a really tight squeeze?

yep yep, the same one, lol. I thought the questions were a little too much alike and started to ask you the same question.
When I was working/selling industrial batteries cold food storage places were our biggest buyers. Granted those batteries are a lot bigger and most of the time more voltage they are built on the same plant grounds with the same standards. East Penn makes the deka brand.
