Default wiring dual voice coil subs in parallel

Hi I have two kicker subs that are both dual voice coil and i want to wire them in parallel. The kickers came with likea pamphlet showing how to wire them but i dont understand it. It shows the wire going through the coil one negative and then coil two negative and the other wire going from coil two positive to coil one postive which i get but are you supposed to have the wire stripped all the way from one coil to the other or just strip the wire when you to each voice coil? thanks in advance.

the way i wired mine (only temporary) was i just cut like a 12" piece of wire (stripped on both ends) to run from [+2] to [+1] and the same from [-2] to [-1] and then wire from [+1] on the sub to the amp and then [-1] from the sub to the amp

ok so basically after you connected them you get another piece of wire and connect it to (+1) and connect the other side to the back of your terminal cup things and then get another piece of wire going from your terminal cups to your amp?
